5 out of 5 stars BD-P1590 Great blu-ray player   September 30, 2009

Have had player for 3 months, and used with samsung 32 inch LCD.Remote controls both T.V. and player without any problms, use every day. Great picture and perfect for netflix. Some netflix streaming movies in 720 definition, but no digital sound yet. Has played all blu-ray cd's including Watchmen. Also plays computer burned and standard cd's with no issues. No sync issues with netflix. Was issues with Pandora but fixed now(firmware update). Need to have hooked to router to get updates that fix issues. Other site review said that cat 6 cable gets better picture and faster up loads from netflix.Just pluged into router and auto detected all settings. Block buster movies coming soon on player.Has you tube also. Price dropped $60.00 at wal-mart to $188.00 now. Know 3 people with this player and none have had any issues. Highly Reccomended

I bought one of these a few weeks ago when I bought a new 1080p LCD TV. The biggest reason for buying it was the Netflix and Pandora Support (it also supports youtube and Blockbuster with the latest firmware). I only have a 1.5Mbs DSL line but Netflix and Pandora work flawlessly. I haven't had a problem yet with either Blu-ray or DVD's and the remote is extremetly easy to use. While this player doesn't come with a wireless device to connect to the internet (for Netflix, Pandora, Blockbuster, Youtube), you can connect it directly to your LAN (or purchase a wifi usb adabpter and connect to your wireless network). I was surprised that Pandora didn't require any kind of subscription.

5 out of 5 stars Sweet!...........So Far So Good   November 30, 2009

Purchased for $150 at Walmart, connected to Vizio LCD TV through Onkyo reciever, hardwire networked to 7Mb ISP.

Setting up netflix and pandora was a snap. Lip sync is fine. Operates like a dream. My only complaint is the buttons are not back lit and have poor tactile feel... Otherwise, a very clean look to the deck.

Watched a regular DVD which looked phenomenal, have yet to plug in a blueray disc... Streamed an old Saturday Night live special which looked standard definition but was unbelievably easy to do. Pandora sounded awesome!

When I plugged it in, it offered to update firmware and I declined because of all the nightmare stories I have heard with other Samsungs dying after updates... But it works super fine as it is and that, is just fine with me.

I will update further if I have any problems...

5 out of 5 stars Excellent BD_Player for your buck   October 10, 2009

Just bought my Samsung WiFi(ready) BD1590, Hooked it up through LynkSys Ethernet with Cat-5 Cable and "Wahlah", It auto firmware upgrade it from only having Netflix/Pandora to additional Netflix/Pandora/Blockbuster/Youtube, (who knows, maybe next upgrade will include Hulu or other upcoming video file sharing)

The Blueray/Dvd graphics are phenomenal & sound quality is exceptional considering I'm only using progressive(monster)cable not HDMI because my Phillips widescreen Hdtv doesnt have it. I was tempted to buy the optional "Wireless Samsung dongle" but happy enough with the Cat-5 Ethernet Cable cause i can go beyond 100 Mb/sec on streaming video traffic means a lot faster and no static interference. The only setback is it's not BD-Live ready (but I dont really care much about it so its ok for me). Netflix streaming, Youtube and Pandora are awesome(dont have Blockbuster account). Not a synch problem nor delayed pixell distribution.

Overall, It's really a "Great buy" for your Buck ([...])

5 out of 5 stars Works great, don't understand bad reviews.   January 9, 2010

I bought this particular model because of the price and to stream Netflix. I was hesitant after reading the terrible reviews posted here by others, but because Costco's return policy is outrageously lenient (the previous blu-ray player I bought I returned without the box and documents and received cash for) I went through with it. The player is connected to the internet via ethernet cable and plays on a Vizio 42" 1080p, 120MHz, LCD. Everything works fine and was incredibly easy to set up. The Netflix user interface is amazingly simple (I expected a hassle), and the movies stream wonderfully with not a single stutter or blink. I can only assume those who've had issues either had a lemon or expected a miracle on a slow wireless network. Or of course, there's always "user-error" to consider (no offense to anyone out there).

Bottom line: works fine, streams Netflix just fine, Pandora works great, and it plays Blu-rays. And all at a good value.
